Tour Around Nusa PenidaPosted by Admin Acala at 04 Sep, 2018
There are some neighboring islands near to Bali. There are 3 most famous, located around 20 km away from Bali to the south-east known as Nusa Penida Island, Nusa Ceningan Island and Nusa Lembongan Island. Each of these Islands shares their own unique tourism destination and arts. For many peoples, these three Islands might not be recognized as parts of Bali’s district. Somehow, they give a great contribution to the tourism development in Bali area. Among these three islands, Nusa Penida Island is the largest one, and also well known as the best destination for scuba diving. Although the two others islands, Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan is located separated, they're still administratively belong to the Nusa Penida area. Administratively, the islands is a district of Klungkung regency. The Badung Strait separates the islands and Bali. In this archipelago, specially Nusa Penida Island, you will find beautiful pure beaches and some conservation places protecting plants, birds, and also turtle. When you are diving in Nusa Penida Island, you will likely to see the large pelagic, such as Manta Ray’s (Manta Birostris) at some locations and Mola Mola (Oceanic Sunfish). If you get lucky, you will sometimes see the whale-shark too.
See the beautiful Nusa Penida landscape from above, or climb down to private beaches below cliff sides. You choose. There are two land-tour to choose from: East Land Tour-At east side you can go to Atuh Beach, Sawehan, and Teletubbies Hill. Wear your comfortable attire, because there will be trekking cliff tops and climbing down stairs. I promise you, the view will be worth it. Don’t forget to bring your camera. West Land Trip This west land tour can be taken as a full-day tour or a half-day tour. In the full-day tour you can go to Tembeling forest, Banah view, Dream Beach, Broken Beach, Angel Billabong, Kelingking Beach, and Crystal Bay. The trip usually ends at Crystal Bay to watch the sunset. In the half-day tour you can go to Broken Beach, Angel Billabong, and Crystal Bay.
The West of the island is usually the destination of all the one-day Nusa Penida Tour tourists. Although not really comparable with the masses on Bali. If you really want to get away and be the only one on the road try the East of Nusa Penida. We would recommend at least a 3 day trip to this wonderful island and split the days between east and west coast attractions to get the most out of it.
Snorkeling & Diving Tour
Good snorkeling is available in most places along the coastal road, since the edge of the reef is not far from shore. Easiest access is usually in places, where locals keep their fishing boats. Due to the currents along the coast, walk back along the road to the starting place may be necessary. Ped, Toyapakeh, Crystal Bay (if not too windy) and Gamat Bay are fantastic for snorkellers and can be accessed from land. You can hire snorkel equipment in Crystal Bay quite cheaply. If you want to snorkel with giant mantas you will need to take a snorkel tour on a boat, these leave from Toyapakeh mostly. Nusa Penida also known as a world class diving destination. There are more than 20 identified dive sites around the island, the most notable including Crystal Bay, Manta Point, Manta 66, Toyapakeh, Gamat Bay, Ped and SD. The rich waters around the three islands support no less than 247 species of coral and 562 species of fish.
Imagine being weightless, floating with the current as hundreds of fish surround you. Nusa Penida has a world class reputation for diving and snorkelling. Previous visitors have claimed it is in fact the undiscovered secret of Indonesian diving. If you are lucky, you may spot the ellusive Mola-Mola Oceanic Sunfish, or even a friendly Manta Ray.
